Humanities Research Lab (HRL)

The Humanities Research Lab (HRL) supports inquiry, provides space for research, convenes opportunities for academic and artistic exchange, collaborative conversations and seminar series. Focus is on activities that seek to contribute to understanding, appreciation and critique of the human condition by considering contemporary and persisting questions. Through these activities the HRL provides a platform for the Arcadia University community, our neighbors and collaborators to engage in civic life and grapple with local and global challenges facing humanity.

What are humanities subjects?

The Humanities include ancient and modern languages, literature, philosophy, history, human geography, law, politics, religion, and art. Scholars in the humanities are "humanity scholars" or humanists.
