2021-2022 Health and Safety Plan

2021-2022 Health and Safety Plan

Revised January 14, 2022

Grounded in a Culture of Dignity, Personal Responsibility, and Safety
This Health and Safety Plan documents Arcadia University’s approach to safety protocols for the 2021-2022 academic year. We are opening this fall 2021 semester with most students, faculty, and staff on campus. Though COVID will remain a part of our lives, our return to an in-person campus will be based on fostering a culture of dignity, personal responsibility, and shared safety. We will operate with the pandemic in the background as we monitor the virus data, science, and public health best practices. This plan is subject to change at any time, and the University is prepared to remain flexible with any evolving situation on campus, across the nation, and around the world.

January 2022 update: Quarantine and Isolation Guidelines

The University announces an update to the Quarantine and Isolation guidelines for the spring 2022 semester. Please refer to the full Quarantine and Isolation guidelines here

October 2021 update:

Anyone unvaccinated after Oct. 1 is required to continue with weekly surveillance testing. Those who have not been granted an exemption from the Interim COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, or who do not participate in surveillance testing or other mitigation measures where required, may face the possibility of restricted access and potentially disciplinary action.

September 2021 udpate:

Testing: Unvaccinated community members will be contacted by COVIDCareTeam for surveillance testing. Vaccinated community members who would like to be added to opt-in testing should contact covidcareteam@theacademy-ibt.com.

Supply Stations: University departments and common areas are stocked with an abundance of wipes, masks, and sanitizers. In the event there is none at the time, University community members should call Facilities at 215-572-2992.

You can monitor campus testing results by following our public COVID-19 dashboard

None of us can guarantee a COVID-free environment. Minimizing the risk of COVID-19 infections is a shared responsibility, and every member of our community must do their part. Arcadia University’s health and safety plan for returning to campus is based on Pennsylvania's response to COVID 19, in conjunction with recommendations by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Recommendations distributed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and American College Health Association (ACHA), as well as the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Montgomery County Office of Public Health, were also considered.
